Terms of Service

The short version

Covyo helps you generate cover letters. You own the letters you create. You agree not to abuse the service. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. If you subscribe, you can cancel anytime.

Who these terms are between

These terms are between you (the person using the service) and Covyo(the service operated at covyo.net). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

Your account

You must be at least 16 years old. You're responsible for keeping your password (or magic-link inbox) secure. If you suspect someone else has access, change your password and email hello@covyo.net immediately.

One person, one account. Don't share an account across multiple people — Covyo is licensed per individual.

Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

• Generate cover letters with content that is illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, or that misrepresents someone else's identity
• Use the service to spam recruiters or send mass identical outreach
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass rate limits or paywalls
• Use the service to violate any third party's rights, including intellectual property and privacy
• Attempt to extract or train AI models on data you don't own

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. We'll tell you why if we do.

Subscriptions, trials, and refunds

Free tier. 5 cover letters per month, ad-supported, most-recent letter visible in History.

Premium. Pay-what-you-want monthly between $7 and $14. Includes unlimited generation, PDF export, full History, and no ads.

Trial.If you've never trialed before, your first Premium subscription includes a 7-day free trial. We collect your card upfront. We'll email a reminder 2 days before the trial ends. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged your chosen monthly amount.

Cancellation.Cancel anytime from Settings → Plan → Manage / cancel (which opens Stripe's portal). Your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period. We don't prorate refunds for partial months.

Refunds. Email hello@covyo.net within 14 days of being charged if you have a problem and want a refund. We try to be reasonable.

Your content

You own everything you put into Covyo (résumé, LinkedIn data, voice rules) and everything you generate (cover letters). We claim no ownership over your content.

You grant us a limited license to process your content through our AI pipeline solely to deliver the service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.

Our service

Covyo is provided "as is"without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee that any cover letter we generate will land you the job, get past ATS, or be free from errors. Always read what the AI produces before sending it to a recruiter.

We may change features, pricing, or this service over time. Material changes that affect you (price increases, feature removal) we'll email about at least 30 days in advance.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Covyo's total liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (or $50, whichever is greater). We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including lost job opportunities, lost revenue, or lost data.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or if we suspect fraud / abuse. On termination, your Premium subscription ends and your data is deleted within 30 days (some operational logs may persist longer per the Privacy Policy).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Disputes that can't be resolved by emailing us first will be resolved in the courts of Reykjavík. If you're a consumer in the EU/UK, you keep any mandatory consumer protections from your local laws.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect. By continuing to use the service after the effective date, you accept the new terms.
